english landscape

stop, stand, stare and absorb

“He stood staring into the wood for a minute, then said: “What is it about the English countryside — why is the beauty so much more than visual? Why does it touch one so?”

Jodie Smith – I Capture The Castle.

“I know I have but the body of a weak and feeble woman, but I have the heart and stomach of a king, and of a king of England too.”

Queen Elizabeth I.

As a photographer I have always been fascinated by the natural landscape and our interaction with it.

The changing seasons mean that there is always something to capture, rain, sleet, snow or shine, the beauty, power and drama of the English landscape is always there.

If only we would take more time out from the busyness of life, and just stop, stand, stare and absorb.
